All drivers in all classes are required to have a working radio receiver
This allows race control to communicate important information to drivers on the track. Including positioning, flag status, safety information, advice, and warnings.
Tipperary Raceway uses Channel 2 on the RT Race Reciever.
All drivers are expected to set their radios to this frequency and be able to hear it any time they are on track.
Race receivers should be checked that they are on channel 2. Turning the radio on you’ll hear “Powering on. Channel Two”. If you don’t hear “Channel Two” it is wrong. Parents, teach your child to know how to check the radio is on the right channel. When the radio is on, pressing the up and down buttons at the same time (on the left side) will lock the channel change buttons. Turning the radio off will unlock this.
Currently, the best option for a race receiver appears to be the RT Race receiver. Brendan Dee (Open RWD car #131) supplies these locally and is at the track. He can be contacted at
